It's easy to recognize a word on a flashcard and still freeze when you actually need to say it. We noticed that was a big barrier when new users start off with a simulation session. We are introducing Speaking Drills to close that gap. They take the words and phrases you've gathered across your lessons and simulations and let you practice them out loud, hearing each one back and getting gentle correction in the moment.

Reading a card and flipping it over only checks whether you recognize a word. Saying it out loud, and pulling it from memory instead of rereading it, is what builds the skill you need in a real conversation. We kept drills short and low pressure on purpose, so they feel like a few minutes of genuinely speaking your new language rather than a test.
