Our Story

Hi, we are Giancarlo and Jayson. We're best friends who just graduated from UCLA. Throughout college we loved building products that solved our own problems and decided this was the next mountain to climb.

After graduating we decided to travel, building Orali from cafés, hostels, and hotels in Southeast Asia, while soaking up every culture we landed in.

Living inside these different worlds made one thing undeniable: Languages are a doorway. Speaking it is how you actually connect with people, learn from them, and grow into someone who sees the world a little bigger.

But learning one is hard. It's tedious and humbling no matter who you are. The one thing that genuinely shortcuts the struggle is a great tutor but a great tutor costs more than most people can justify. We wanted to bridge that gap.

There's a lot of AI slop floating around right now. We wanted to do the opposite. Take the best of what conversational models can actually do and pack it into something that feels alive. Encouraging. Fun. Your personal tutor that you can talk to, get feedback from, and grow with.
